Botanical Park and Gardens

Just a few kilometres away from the centre of Chania (17km), the Botanical Park and Garden is one of a kind outdoor garden in the foothills of the White Mountains, on the road Chania-Omalos, between Fournes and Lakki. Due to the soil's configuration and microclimate, the garden is a home of different types of fruit trees from all over the world, indigenous medicinal herbs, aromatic spices, ornamental plants and vineyards that attract different wildlife at different months a season. Four brothers have done so much amazing work to create this piece of Eden that grew all over from the ashes of a devastating wild fire in 2004. A burnt centennial olive tree is the only thing to remind that this place is literary reborn from its ashes.
