Archaeolab - Archaeology for Kids in Crete

Your kids will never think archeology is a boring thing after a visit to Archaeolab, in western Crete. Located at Kissamos beach (also in Patra and Thessaloniki), in a space of 550 m2, the only hands-on activity for archeaology in Crete is aiming to acquaint childern with the past of the island in a very entertaining way. Knowing that the more senses are activated, the more immediately knowledge is absorbed, just let your toddler play and learn during your vacation in Crete away from the screens.

In Archaeolab your kids will overcome sightseeing boredom by uncovering hidden treasures and participate in art workshops. The Archaeolab training programs are designed in a way to activate children's imagination in a modern and experiential way. The activities concern a simulation of an excavation of a Minoan house, where young archaeologists, using sieves and shovels, will follow the scientific process phases like soring out and classification. In addition to the excavation simulation, they will cook like the Minoans and make their own mosaic. Including an 8-hour summer camp (8.00am-4pm) with various activities like pottery workshop, the labs provide clear evidence and information on the characteristics of the Minoans and the Minoan society lifestyle.

Archaeolab's experience-related laboratories that combine training with entertainment will excite the children and is an ideal solution to the daily schedule of a family visiting western Crete. Archaeolab is also available for children's parties and personaliz    ed programs, according to each child's interest.
