The more you move away from the coastline of the vast island of Crete and the deeper you go into the countryside, the more you will come to appreciate the ways of the old, traditional, slow paced lifestyle that (still) survives in the villages. Made entirely of wood and stone and located in a small village called Asteri (star), Villa Aria will pull you in this lifestyle.
The villa was completed in 2016 and can host up to 11 people in 5 bedrooms. All bedrooms have their own bathroom. Villa Aria also features a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living room with a fireplace.
On the outside area there is a pool of 40 sq.m. with a separate section for kids. Around the pool there are sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as a BBQ area with a wood-fired oven and a pergola that allows the visitors to stay outside for as long as they wish.
The villa meets all accessibility standards for handicapped guests.
Villa Aria is located in Asteri, a wonderful, traditional village situated 12 km from Rethymno City and only 1 km from the National Road.
Although it has grown larger over the past decade, Asteri keeps its traditional character. Take advantage of your stay in Asteri to get to know the local way of life and delve into the famous Cretan hospitality. The village has a mini-market, a tavern, a cafe as well as one of the greatest folklore museums in the country.
The beach of Stavromenos and Sfakaki, part of the 13 kilometer-long Rethymno seafront, is just 5 km away.

Villa Aria was superb for our family holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of the villa and gardens. Eleni the host was very courteous and helpful.

The views over the village and towards the sea are incredible, you also get some great views of the mountains in the distance. The villa is very well equipped and nicely decorated. Has everything you need for a 2 week stay. The owners o... more
I stayed at Villa Aria with our party of 12 in August. The villa is beautiful, even nicer than the photos! We liked that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The kitchen is small but new and functional. We arrived late at night and Eleni met us and had a few homemade snacks for us to eat. The grounds are beautiful as is the pool. There were vegetables growing in the garden which we were welcom... more

Everything worked and we had no problems whatsoever and the only criticisms I would give are the kitchen is hardly sufficient for 11 people but just about manageable for its size the barbecue helps tremendously though. You can always eat out but that’s the next thing as the villa is a little out of the way at the top of a bi... more
